How to Use PDFCraft PDF Tools

PDFCraft has 3 tools: Merge PDF, Compress PDF, and PDF to Word. All run in your browser — no upload, no signup, completely private.

Tool 1
Merge Multiple PDFs into One
Go to PDFCraft → Merge PDF.
  1. Click the upload area or drag your PDF files onto it
  2. Add as many files as needed — they appear as a list
  3. Drag to reorder them if needed
  4. Click Merge PDFs — a single combined PDF downloads
Example — combining college documents for university application
Files merged in order:
1. cover-letter.pdf (1 page)
2. marksheets-10th-12th.pdf (4 pages)
3. btech-degree.pdf (2 pages)
4. experience-letter.pdf (1 page)
5. passport-photo.pdf (1 page)
Result: University-Application-Arjun.pdf (9 pages)
💡 Many universities, banks, and government portals ask for all documents in a single PDF. Merge PDF lets you combine them in any order before submitting.
Tool 2
Compress a PDF to Reduce File Size
Go to PDFCraft → Compress PDF.
  1. Upload your PDF
  2. Select compression level: Low (better quality), Medium, or High (smallest file)
  3. Click Compress — the compressed PDF downloads
Example — compressing a scanned rent agreement
Before
8.4 MB
Rent-Agreement-Scan.pdf
→
After (Medium)
2.1 MB
Compressed (75% smaller)
💡 Most email attachments have a 10–25 MB limit. WhatsApp documents have a 100 MB limit. Compressing scanned PDFs typically reduces them by 50–80%, making sharing much easier.
Tool 3
Convert PDF to Editable Word Document
Go to PDFCraft → PDF to Word.
  1. Upload your PDF
  2. The tool extracts text from each page
  3. Click Download as Word (.docx)
  4. Open in Microsoft Word or Google Docs to edit
Example — extracting text from a government circular PDF
Input: Tax-Notice-2026.pdf (3 pages, text-based)
Output: Tax-Notice-2026.docx (editable, 3 pages of text)
You can now edit, reformat, copy specific paragraphs, translate, or restructure the content in Word or Google Docs.
⚠️ Important: This tool works on text-based PDFs (created digitally). Scanned PDFs (photos of pages) have no extractable text — you'll see a warning. For scanned documents, try Google Drive's built-in OCR (upload to Drive, right-click → Open With → Google Docs).

Frequently Asked Questions

Is my PDF uploaded to a server?

No. All processing happens in your browser using JavaScript. Your files never leave your device. This makes PDFCraft safe for private documents like Aadhaar, PAN cards, bank statements, contracts, and medical records.

What is the maximum PDF file size?

There's no hard file size limit set by PDFCraft — it's limited by your device's available RAM. Files up to 50 MB work reliably on most devices. Very large files (100+ MB) may be slow or may crash on older phones with limited memory.

Can I merge password-protected PDFs?

No — password-protected PDFs cannot be processed. You need to remove the password first. If you know the password, open the PDF in Chrome, print it to PDF (no password will be set on the printed copy), then use that copy.

Why does my Word document look different from the PDF?

PDFs don't store formatting in a way that can be perfectly reconstructed. The PDF to Word tool extracts text content accurately, but fonts, columns, tables, and images are not preserved. The resulting .docx gives you the text content in an editable format, which you can then reformat as needed.
