Free Password Generator — Generated in your browser, never stored
PassGen generates cryptographically random passwords using your browser's built-in crypto.getRandomValues() API. Passwords are generated entirely on your device and are never sent to any server, never logged, and never stored. Close the tab and they are gone forever.
A passphrase like apple-river-cloud-seven-moon is easier to remember than G#7kLm2@pQ9! and can be just as secure due to its length. Use the Passphrase tab to generate memorable but strong passphrases.
PassGen uses crypto.getRandomValues() — the same cryptographic API used by browsers for HTTPS. Passwords are generated locally in your browser and never leave your device. It is safe to use.
For most accounts, 16 characters is excellent. For critical accounts (bank, email), use 20+ characters with symbols. Shorter passwords (8–10 chars) are vulnerable to brute force attacks with modern hardware.
Yes. Use a password manager (Bitwarden, 1Password, KeePass) to store unique passwords for every site. PassGen helps you generate those passwords — the manager keeps them safe.
Most sites accept: ! @ # $ % ^ & * ( ) – _ + = [ ] { } | ; : , . ? /. Some systems block certain symbols — if a site rejects your password, try without symbols or use the Alpha+Num option in the Bulk tab.
